Bored Panda has reached out to Amanda Graves, a tattoo artist based in Maryland who is an expert on the topic. A video inspired us. Amanda posted on Facebook about the amazing benefits of glitter tattoos, and we were impressed by the beautiful work she displayed. This article showcases many of Amanda's beautiful designs and asks her to explain what glitter tattooing is all about.
"Amanda talked to Bored Panda about her unique approach to 'Glitter Tattoos'. She has been doing this style for years, but recently she started using a new technique. Amanda calls it 'Glitter Realism'. She uses a method similar to 'Stippling' or 'Pointillism' to make the tattoos look like real glitter. Amanda uses her knowledge of color and contrast to make the tattoos appear to shimmer. By using different colors, Amanda makes the tattoos look even more amazing."

Amanda's passion for tattooing started 8 years ago, and since then, she has explored various tattoo styles. Her journey as a tattoo artist has been enriched by learning from experienced teachers who shared their knowledge and techniques with her. Amanda's continuous growth in the craft is a testament to her dedication and hard work.
The idea for glitter tattoos came from cheerleading. Amanda, a competitive cheerleader and now a cheer coach, was always obsessed with glitter. One day, when she was doing her daughter's makeup, she thought to use the shimmer as inspiration for her next project. And that's how glitter tattoos were born! Amanda loves creating these sparkly tattoos and seeing her clients' reactions to them. She also enjoys the process of making them.
